It’s been a little while since my last one brand face post – so I thought I’d bring the mini-series back again with this face brought to you by Becca – and featuring one main look but three variations on the lip look – covering lip gloss, and two shades from their Beach Tint range… so covering colours for all seasons/situations. But let me talk you through the base look before we branch out into the various lip looks:
First a little info on the background of Becca – Becca is an Australian brand that was in the UK a few years ago, but then didn’t work out so left but then returned (yay!) earlier this year to grace the UK with it’s presence again via Space NK. Happy days – as this is a brand which features a few real gems – Beach Tints and the famous Luminous Skin Perfector.
There were two base products factored in – the Ever-Matte pore perfector for the matte base, or the Shimmering Skin Perfector in the shade Opal (there’s also newly launched powder shimmering skin perfectors that I have my eye on – they look stunning) but the famous product has to be the Shimmering Skin Perfector, the Opal shade is a peachy pink one and it adds a little glow all over but without looking *too* shimmery. Just glow. I used this on the cheeks but a bit of the matte primer on the t-zone to reduce any excess shine.
Then I went for the Radiant Skin Satin Finish Foundation – with a buffing brush and just one little pea sized amount buffed in all over. I didn’t find this foundation as easy to work with as I had hoped – and it took some work to blend it all in to the skin so that it looked natural with no hint of lines from the brush. But a bit of work and I got there – it’s also worth a note that whilst I found it a little bit of work, I did love how it looked in the photos (I use studio lights, but not flash or anything else to give skin a more perfect look – so you can see how it does photograph well below). Under the eyes I used the Radiant Skin Creamy Concealer – this is really creamy and definitely doesn’t need much to get strong coverage. Really good for under the eyes without caking or looking heavy.
Then for the cheeks I added a pop of colour courtesy of the gorgeous Songbird – a lovely mineral powder colour that adds that gorgeous peachy glow that is so ever-flattering for multiple skin tones. I love it and it’s probably the stand-out product for me from the Becca bits I’ve been playing with.
There was a slight cheat on this one, as I don’t have a Becca mascara, but I do have a liquid liner from them – so just went for a simple liner and lashes combo for the eyes and let the lips do the more interesting bit! The three colours below are:
The three lip colours cover all bases – a bright tangerine, a pink and a deep berry. So berry for winter, tangerine for summer and pink for year-round. I found it a little odd that the pink ‘Lychee’ goes matte when ‘Raspberry’ stays creamy but sheer- slightly odd?! My favourite colour wise has to be Lychee, but not keen how it goes so matte – so texture wise, Raspberry is the winner for me.
Which shade is your favourite from the trio?!
