I’m a big kid at heart, so when I was recently sent a couple of the Barry M Lip Lacquer Crayons I was pretty excited when I saw that they look just like crayola crayons. Yay! I get to colour in my lips – but as with real crayons, I have never been too good at staying in the lines!
Anyway, I was sent shade number 1 (a vibrant red) and shade number 5 (a cool baby pink) and since I am a bit of a chicken when it comes to bright colours, it was shade 5 that drew me in first and is the one I have worn the most.
Both of the Barry M Lip Lacquers I tried are impressively pigmented, creamy and don’t feel at all dry or heavy on the lips. Since I have never been good at wearing lipstick I found these were lovely, they fall into the middle ground between lip gloss and lipstick – heavier and more pigmented than a normal gloss, but more sheer and moisturising than a lipstick.
Only slight downside to the pale pink shade, which is my personal favorite, is that it does have a shimmer that sticks to the lips after the colour has worn off. As long as you touch up then this isn’t a problem, but if you are a bit rubbish at touching up (like me) then it might be something you want to consider.
If you like vibrant colours then I really think you should try out the vibrant red shade no 1 – it’s a gorgeous pure red, so pretty – I’m just trying to get the guts up to rock the red.
