Clinique Lash Power Mascara: Review

It’s been a while since I’ve reviewed something from Clinique – which is a little surprising, since it’s one of my top brands (I’m still loving Clinique Anti Blemish Foundation). So I dug out this mascara to give it a bit of a test as it’s been a while since I’ve REALLY fallen for a new mascara. Sure, there have been a few that I have liked but none that have made me want to become a one-mascara girl, what can I say – when it comes to mascara, I’m a bit of tart.

Apologies the image is a little out of focus. I really like the wand for this mascara – I think it’s basically my ideal. Slightly fluffier bristles – rather than the harder comb style – but with shorter bristles. Shorter bristles are good for anyone (i.e., me) who is slightly prone to poking themselves in the eye…

Plus the tapered end means it’s easy to get into the corners.

So, that’s the wand over-analysed. What are the results like?

Left eye – no mascara.
Right eye – with Clinique Lash Power (just top lashes, two coats).

I’m impressed – lots more length, thicker lashes but no clumping. Still looks quite natural, so good for daytime without looking overdone.
The other thing I should mention about this mascara is that it’s not one of those traditional to remove ones. It’s one of the ‘tubing’ mascaras that takes just a bit of warm water to loosen it and make it ‘peel’ off. Good for when you don’t have eye make-up remover to hand, but a pain if you just want to get it off quickly.
What do you think? What’s your go-to mascara?

What a good idea to do a review with one eye on, the other off! Looks like a good product – I’m a bit of a mascara tart as well! x

Ahh this is difficult! I can’t stay faithful to one mascara, either! I always have over 10 open mascaras in my drawer at any one time, it’s quite ridiculous. I want to try the new Chanel Inimitable Intense next but otherwise I like MAC’s Studio Fix Lash, for example.
