NARS Sex Appeal: Review

With a name like ‘sex appeal’ I challenge anyone not to want to at least see what this product is all about. I was tempted to try it from seeing the colour in the adverts and reading the description – referred to as ‘soft and subtle peach’ or ‘orgasm light’. If it’s like Orgasm, but slightly more light and wearable… then I’m sold. It had a lot of promise and the colour is very pretty.

But when I try to use it, it’s a little bit of a let down. I’m disappointed! It’s a very pale peachy shade with no shimmer at all. Because it’s totally matte it can look a bit chalky on the skin unless buffed in quite well. Because it’s such a pale shade it will really only work on pale skin and don’t get me wrong – it does work on pale skin, it just takes a little bit of playing to make the colour apply enough so it will show, but not so much that it looks chalky. It’s a fine line…

I guess this is the ultimate lesson in how a good product name will sell a product based on the name alone…

NARS Sex Appeal costs £19.50
