So today was a lovely morning, the sun was shining and I woke up bright and early to take Monty for a walk in the park (less walk, more spend hours sniffing everything in sight and moving a few feet…) and then heading back to my desk to get working. But that doesn’t mean I don’t need a bit of a wake up call on some (many) days. Which is where this new Origins GinZing Scrub Cleanser comes in.
I wouldn’t say I was a morning person really, more afternoon/evening- although generally when I’m out of bed I’m ok, I’m not a total grump – just have to drag myself from the comfort of bed to the shower and post shower I’m usually fine. But I have a few little tricks to help the old wake-up process – from lovely wake-me-up smelling shower gels, to body brushing and now this yummy smelling scrub.
This is the newest addition to the GinZing range, which is essentially the ‘entry point’ to the Origins skincare range – all characterised with the orange packaging. The orange shade does automatically make me assume it will smell of oranges (isn’t it funny how the brain works?) and in this instance I’m right – it has a refreshing but sweet citrus scent that is just perfect for the morning.
The texture has scrubby beads in it – but in a way that isn’t too abrasive or harsh feeling on the skin. The gel the beads are suspended in is quite thick which helps prevent them feeling too harsh. As someone who has been preferring chemical/AHA type exfoliants recently I haven’t felt like this is harsh at all and have been happily using it two/three times a week as my morning cleanse step. I do really like a scrub cleanser in the morning a few times a week as find it just helps brighten the skin and prep it for moisturiser/make-up – which I swear seems to go on and stay on better post exfoliation.
Overall, this is a yummy smelling pick-me-up in the morning scrub cleanser and a lovely little addition to starting the day.
