As soon as I saw the picture of this polish I knew I had to check it out in person, the shimmering contrast of turquoise and lilac really appealed to me…as two of my favourite colours… I really wanted to see how it worked in real life.
Leighton Denny Meteor Match is part of the rather stunning Atmospheric Collection – check out the colours below? I think they are absolutely gorgeous. There isn’t a colour in the collection that I don’t like!
|Top L-R: Astronaughty, Big Bang, Meet me on Venus
Bottom L-R: Meteor Match, Purely Plutonic, Your Planet or Mine
But back to Meteor Match…
In the bottle it doesn’t disappoint – shimmering and pretty with the gorgeous but unusual combination of turquoise and purple plus a silver glitter that isn’t noticeable in the press shots.
On the nail I have to be honest and say I was a little bit let down, but not totally. The main reason is how sheer it was, it took four coats to get the colour in the pictures below. That being said, I do really like the colour on the nail – it feels almost like a mixture of the turquoise and purple from the bottle but in one colour rather than as a shimmery duo chrome. The silver glitter does add a bit of bling, but it’s quite subtle so it doesn’t overpower the colour.
As with most of the unique nail colours, it’s a nightmare to photograph properly – coming out as more of a blue toned silver than anything else. But if you look closely you can see the different tones in the different pictures.
What do you think of this shade? I can definitely say that it’s one of the most unique in my collection!
