Miners Matte Factor Lip Paint

Miners isn’t one of the first brands that comes to mind when I’m thinking of affordable make-up, but it really should! Ever since I tried their swirl bronzer and fell in love with the define and line liquid liner that I talked about in one of my videos I have felt a bit like Miners is a brand I should be paying more attention to – they are releasing good products but I think the main barrier is that they aren’t available that easily. You can order online, but I generally prefer to be able to have a play with the products and see them in ‘real life’ before I purchase.

Anyway, back to the point of this post – to talk about the new Miners Matte Factor Lip Paints. I think these are best described as a matte version of a lip gloss, they come in lip gloss style packaging but the formula is creamy and non-glossy, like a lipstick. A middle ground between the two! I was first impressed by the colour range, whilst not vast, I did immediately spot a couple that I knew I would really like.

The packaging shots are taken with the flash, so the colours do look a tad more washed out than they do in natural light but the swatch shots are pretty accurate (it’s mostly the darker reds that look far lighter in the picture below that IRL).
There are six colours, ranging from deep red, to light pink.

L-R: Deep Red, Warm Red, Hot Pink, Cappuccino, Peach, Light Pink

L-R: Deep Red, Warm Red, Hot Pink, Cappuccino, Peach, Light Pink

As you can hopefully see from the swatches, the texture is creamy – more like a lipstick than a gloss. Although saying that, I think something has happened to my Peach shade as it seems to look glossier than the others – I think this might have separated in the tube or something because the texture is quite different for this one.

The colours I love are Peach and Hot Pink, although I can also see myself wearing the two reds over Christmas time. For me, the Cappuccino shade is too brown toned and is highly likely to make me look ill and the light pink is a bit too pale for me.

I like the texture of these, they are creamy but not sticky – so less drying than a normal matte lipstick.

What do you think of these colours and the whole idea of a matte lip paint??

I’m definitely a fan of the peach one! I like the idea of a matte lip paint, they seem quite simple to apply too! Thanks for the review x

You’re the same as me with the light pink and cappuccino shade. I said exactly the same thing in my post the other day. xx
