Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Liquid Foundation (FOTD)

A couple of week’s ago I went along to the launch of Benefit’s new ‘Hello Flawless Oxygen WOW’ foundation at Tower 42 in the City (this place has amazing views over the City by the way – I just haven’t mastered my camera enough to take nighttime skyline photos through glass…)

Hello Flawless Oxygen WOW foundation launches nationwide today (Saturday 31st March) and I’ve been giving it a road test for a couple of weeks so thought now would be a good time to share my thoughts and a little FOTD.

The foundation is oil free and contains SPF 25 – both major plus points. It promises to deliver a flawless finish (hence the name) whilst leaving skin feeling like it can breath, rather than like it’s caked in make-up. The formula contains a ‘hydrating complex’ – to keep skin nicely moisturised, whilst looking perfect. It’s described as light to medium coverage (I’d say more on the medium side).
The range includes nine shades from light to dark, with 3 light, 3 medium and 3 dark. It’s good to see a brand bringing a decent range that covers darker shades as this isn’t often something well covered in the UK market.

The shade matched for me is ‘Ivory: I’m Pure For Sure’, which is a perfect match to my current skin tone so very happy with this. Application wise, it was really easy to apply and blend (I used my trusty ELF flat topped brush – FYI, best foundation brush I’ve tried). I love a light to medium foundation, and would say this one is on the more medium side – and buildable. But I found a single layer of this gave me a flawless covered finish that looked perfect, yet on the more natural side – not to much like a mask. I was really happy with the just applied finish, I added just a slight dusting of powder to the t-zone to set.

Just applied: Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation.
I found it wore fairly well, although my t-zone area did become shiny by lunchtime. But a quick blot and it was fine again – the best thing in my opinion about the wear is that it really does keep skin hydrated and feeling fresh. I have dry cheeks and around my eyes, and this kept those areas feeling comfortable all day long – even when I spent far too many hours in front of a computer.
Overall, I think for me this is an ideal foundation for colder months – as that’s when my skin is at it’s driest, as in Summer I think I personally need something that stays a bit matte all day long. If your skin is less combination than me – you should definitely check this one out – the coverage and finish is really lovely.
Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow is available nationwide NOW (£24.50)! Also, you can get one of three shades as a sample with any order from the Benefit website.

I have been hemming and hawing about this foundation since I saw the ads. But I know you use and like similar foundations to me ( the clinique superbalanced) so I think I will give this a go!
