No person should have to face violence in their life, let along their own home. Yet, domestic violence still affects one in four women in the UK (and might I add, and this is rarely touched upon – but men can be on the receiving end of domestic violence too) but for the purposes of this post it’s all about the empowerment of women and pushing towards a future where no woman has to suffer violence in their own home.
Thursday 8th March is International Women’s Day, to mark this Avon have launched the Pass It On campaign – with this Pass It On Empowerment Necklace. The circular pendant represents a future of endless possibility and costs just £3.50 – with all proceeds going to Avon’s charity partners Refuge and Women’s Aid.
Refuge is a charity I feel strongly about and already support. A few months ago I donated £500 to the charity that I raised at a beauty sale at work so I wanted to take the time to share this current Avon initiative with you.
The necklace will be available from www.avonshop.co.uk from 8th March for £3.50 for more information or advice on domestic violence visit www.1in4women.com
I have donated a further £10 to Refuge as this necklace was sent for free for PR purposes.
