I have a new favourite scent for Spring – it’s this beauty from the new Jo Malone London Blooms collection. A trio of fragrances: White Lilac and Rhubarb, Peony and Moss and Iris and Lady Moore.
All three are quite a departure from the usual Jo Malone style – firstly, with the style of the bottle – with the inclusion of the floral design at the back of the bottle. Also with the somewhat quirky combination of scents in each of the fragrances in the collection – Peony and Moss for example. Peony is very floral, combined with the earthy scent of Moss…an unusual combo.
When I first heard about the new fragrances I thought the Peony/Moss version would appeal to me but then when I smelt White Lilac and Rhubarb I absolutely fell for it and have been wearing it daily.
There was something that felt a bit old fashioned/traditional about White Lilac & Rhubarb but something about it really works. It’s part fresh part fruity – and doesn’t smell at all old fashioned. It also lasts on the skin, I can pick up some of the notes at the end of a long work day. It has a really lovely dry-down on the skin – although this will vary on different people.
Definitely check this unusual collection of fragrances out next time you pass a Jo Malone counter – they are limited edition, so if you like the sound of them, don’t hang around.
