Summer cupcake sprinkle nails

So here’s a super speedy nail of the day look using my old get-an-extra-day-or-two trick of popping a glitter top coat over a cream colour after a couple of days to mix things up and extend a manicure, without a total re-do. Hardly the most original thing in the world, but still…a good little trick.

This is a base of No7 nail shade in ‘Minty Fresh’ which I adore – since I have a weakness for anything either blue or turquoise and this is a happy middle shade between the two. The I popped a coat of Nails Inc ‘Special Effects’ sprinkles in ‘Sweets Way’* on top – the white-ish base colour of this tones down the turquoise a little but I find having a base coat of colour for this makes the overall effect look a bit stronger – the glitter shows up more than on it’s own.

I’m loving the mixture of glitter shades and how they are both bright and toned down at the same time. If you have tried any other amazing glitter shades or other colours in the Sprinkles range let me know which you recommend – having a definite glitter moment in my life (on a totally separate note – Topshop has some of the most amazing sequin dresses at the moment…)
No7 available from Boots.comย and Nails Inc Sprinkles available from the Nails Inc website

Love this! I did something similar on my nails with an OPI robin’s egg blue as a base and Models Own Ibiza Mix on top and you’re right, it’s bright but not over the top ๐Ÿ™‚
