I have a new shampoo love. It’s this duo from John Frieda Beach Blonde. A little trip down John Frieda Beach Blonde memory lane… This was one of the first brands I ever fell for and as a teen (and still now) I dreamt of getting dreamy beach hair…with a bit of a California beach blonde look about it. I am still to manage to fully capture that whole ‘California girl’ thing, but in terms of beachy feeling goodness this duo are hitting the spot.
Who else remembers John Frieda Beach Blonde from days gone by? I remember the Beachy Waves Spray that was a duo layer spray product that you shook up and sprayed on for that beachy finish (discontinued…but think there’s a new alternative) then there was the Lemon Lights Highlighter – a lemony gel designed to speed up the highlighting process as happens when you squeeze lemon juice in your hair… Also discontinued but still… fond memories.
But these two, whilst not necessarily offering the finished look what they do offer is a fresh and actually practical beachy hair option. Leaving your hair silky soft and clean but not stripped and parched as hair often is after too much sun, sea and sand.
Plus, the cherry on top for me is the gorgeous scent. Not a typical beachy one, but a soft mint that manages to be fresh and awakening without being overly cooling/minty. Like a natural mint not extra strong mint. I am a total sucker for mint and can 100% vouch for how awesome this is after days in the sea and on the beach. My hair was left cleansed and soft without being knotty or having an irritated scalp. Total thumbs up and can keep going with it now I’m back away from the gorgeous Caribbean beaches…
