Truth be told, I’m more of a savoury kinda girl. But when an invite arrives in your inbox to go and taste all the new Chocomania Krispy Kreme collection… I just can’t say no. So off I went for a night of indulgence and doughnuts. SO MANY DOUGHNUTS. Each one with a perfect pairing of a cocktail from the Ham Yard Hotel to match or compliment each doughnut. Who knew doughnut tasting could be so sophisticated?! Have I used the word doughnut enough yet?
If you have ever tried a Krispy Kreme then you will already know how indulgent they are. They are pure sugary doughy goodness. Personally, one whole doughnut is a little too much but man do they taste good. As a sugary sweet treat they’re hard to beat for pure indulgence factor.
The new collection features four doughnuts that are limited edition. There’s the Chocolate Honeycomb, Chocolate Hazelnut Kreme, Triple Chocolate Cake and Chocolate Krispy. So a mix of chocolate cake and doughnut. Basically, all the chocolate you can imagine in doughnut form.
Then, as if four doughnuts and chocolate cocktails wasn’t *quite* enough indulgence… then we also had the chance to customise our own doughnut creation. Choosing between the classic ring or custard filled. I went with the ring, topped with chocolate, salted caramel pieces and a sprinkling on white chocolate icing. I’d tell you it was amazing but I actually don’t (dough-not…hehe) know as I was all dough-nutted out so donated them to the husband to enjoy… I have it on his word that it was good.
Basically, if you like chocolate and you like doughnuts then you need to try at least one of the doughnuts from the new chocomania collection. My recommendation (favourite) was the Chocolate Krispy (the ring one with the little crispy balls on top as it was just the right blend between chocolate and doughnut…
I think this has to be the most photos of doughnuts I’ve ever taken. Doesn’t help that I’m hungry whilst I write this either… do you have a favourite existing Krispy Kreme?! I think the classing ring one with chocolate topping may be mine…either that or the glazed raspberry… tough call. Might need to taste them both again to check. But first… I might need to hit the gym to recover from all the chocolate.
I was a guest of Krispy Kreme.
