As much as I love everything else I’ve tried from Clarins, I have to say I’ve never quite fallen for their fragrances – my Mum on the other hand absolutely adores Eau Dynamisante and seems to like a few of the others, but for me none of them really appealed.
But that all changed when I found a mini bottle of Eau des Jardins in amongst a selection of Clarins goodies in my hotel room when I went to Paris with the brand.
This fragrance is absolutely lovely – it’s not the easiest to describe and unlike other perfumes I’ve tried this one is designed to look after the skin whilst adding its fragrance. I would describe this as very fresh and lightweight but with that special something that stops it from being *too* fresh and citrussy. It has something warmer to it to keep the bite of the citrus scent from being overwhelming.
It contains essential oils of grapefruit, lemon, bergamot, orange, rose, spearmint laurel leaf, patchouli, vetiver. Plus blackcurrant bud extract designed to sooth, beech bud extract moisturisers and sorbier bud extract to illuminate the complexion.
Overall it feels to me like a Summer garden in a bottle – and at this time of year when we’re all hoping for Spring to kick off, but seems all we have is dreary rain and unexpected cold snaps then this has been a very, very, welcome addition to my daily routine.
I can’t really speak for the skin benefits of this as I only really realised these were the case when I started googling to write up this review! But I can attest that this is my current go to perfume (that I often combine with a spritz of Molecule 01) and I absolutely adore it.
