I remember being so excited to be able to pick up one of these when I was in New York last Feb, before they had launched in the UK! Then being even more excited when I heard they were going to make it across the Atlantic and be available over here! Since then, the Color Tattoo 24 Hour have been pretty popular – with a lovely range of shades, easy to use and long lasting. So I thought it might be good to have a look at the shades in my collection:
Left to right in the swatches above we have: Light in Purple, Eternal Gold, Timeless Black and Immortal Charcoal.
Light in Purple is a gorgeous duo-chrome type shade with a blend of blue and purple that shines depending on the lighting. It has quite a frosty finish overall but is a real statement colour. I would love to find the nail varnish equivalent of this one!
Eternal Gold is a classic golden shimmer. It’s cream and well pigmented with a yellowy/orange tone to it that’s really lovely for blue eyes. This will be a summer fave for me! Also, used lightly can make a pretty highlight!
Timeless black is the perfect name for this creamy, pure black shade. Amazingly pigmented – this is the ideal for a really dramatic smokey eye. This would also work well applied with a liner brush as a liner, or smudged on with fingers for the proper rock-chick, ‘I slept in my make-up and woke up ready to party’ type look.
Immortal Charcoal is another smokey eye wonder – but perhaps a slightly softer version than Timeless Black. It has a soft shimmer to it and the grey shade just takes the edge off the darker black version. This and Timeless Black could be combined to add a bit of dimension to a dramatic smokey eye.
There’s also a fairly recent addition to the range in a Rose Gold shade that I am very keen to get my hands on, I’m such a sucker for a rose gold anything!
What do you think of these four shades – which would be your pick??
