ESPA Pink Hair and Scalp Mud

Scalp… not the most glam of beauty related words, but for me it’s a major selling point! Throw the words scalp and mask together…and I’m sold! So after the special edition GlossyBox a few months back arrived with a voucher included for Espa products, I decided to invest mine in this Espa Pink Hair and Scalp Mud. Having now used it for a longer chunk of time I thought it would be a good time to share my thoughts.

Hair is normally the focus for pampering/masks – wanting healthy, moisturised, good conditioned locks is the ultimate goal. But the scalp is often the bit that gets ignored – despite the fact that if you look after your scalp, you naturally look after your hair…. because after all, that’s where the hair comes from?! So cleansing the scalp, refreshing it and giving it a deep clean – shifting any build up that might be preventing hair from growing healthily is a natural thing to do if you want good looking hair.

Then for me there’s the added benefit of having a sensitive scalp – using a regular mask is really helpful to keep things fresh and clean.

This mask is lovely to use, but a little on the fiddly side. I always find it a little awkward to get the whole scalp covered – especially when applying to wet hair as somehow getting in between the heavier layers of wet hair is always a little fiddly. This is creamy and thick and smells nice and fresh – not too medicinal, which some masks for the scalp can lean towards (especially if they contain mint or menthol type ingredients which are meant to refresh but can often just irritate more!).

For me this is a nice creamy scalp booster – it leaves my scalp feeling cleansed and fresh but not stripped. I also like that the tube is easier to use too – some masks/mud when they come in tubs it’s just impractical. But this is a nice large squeeze tube that helps for use in the shower or bath. It’s also good value – I went for the 200ml tube which costs £31 (of which I think £30 was the voucher from the Glossy Box) and having used around once a week for just over a month I still have around two thirds of the tube left.

I have some of this and I find it is quite thick and makes it harder to apply to your scalp (thank god for Tangle Tweezers to massage it in), it does leave your scalp feeling clean though, once you finally get it on xx

This mask sounds amazing! At the moment I am using Moroccan Argan Oil 360 nourishment mask and it is doing wonders for my hair however has left my scalp feeling slightly unloved. I have been looking for a mask to help my scalp out a little bit and this looks like it will do the trick! Thank you for the review

This sounds like something I would love. I can imagine it can be tricky to apply. x
