Estee Lauder’s Bronze Goddess Collection is one of very few specific collections that I look forward to year after year. It’s consistently amazing at summing up all my favourite things about Summer in one pretty make-up related package. Always with the bronzes and golds that I love for Summer, plus my all time favourite turquoise shade. All the essentials for a gorgeous bronzed glow, that will deliver without fail – even if the weather doesn’t quite live up to our Summer dreams!
I’ve been playing with four bits from the collection – the gorgeous giant bronzer, that’s big enough to use a big brush and dust all over the body. the colour is on the yellower side of the spectrum and is the perfect balance between shimmer and matter. No glitter, just enough glow to add dimension but not shine. All housed in a pretty tortoiseshell compact with large mirror that’s ideal if you take on holiday.
Then the gorgeous shimmering cheek highlighter – these are consistently amazing. Such a unique texture, part powder, gel, cream and can be used wet or dry for a softer or more intense look. This years is a pretty champagne shade and ideal for paler skins that want a glow.
There’s also a double ended liner that’s amazingly pigmented – with black and gold. Creamy and easy to use for a softer or dramatic look. The gold really compliments blue eyes – I adore gold or bronze on the eyes in summer.
Then last up is the stunner of a palette- five shades including a majority of bronze/neutrals plus a smaller taupe shade (can’t beat a taupe) then the amazing turquoise that makes this the perfect Summer combination. Look at how amazing that turquoise is when swatched?! No let down on the pigment front here – rich and intense. Gorgeous. I use this with a fine brush or the pointy sponge applicator to draw a line on the lid for a pop of colour.
There’s also of course the much anticipated annual launch of the latest Bronze Goddess fragrance – I always love these and still have last years bottle on the go. I actually looked to pick this up when going through duty free last week but couldn’t find it so it may not have made it to their shelves yet but will keep an eye out. I have some Boots points just waiting to be splurged!
