YSL Summer Look 2013

YSL Collections are always pretty darn special – and the offering this Summer is no exception. Influenced by Marrakesh it’s one filled with rich golds and browns, with a pop of jewel toned colours and the packaging – gorgeous! Would you expect anything less?!

This post is actually a composite of a selection of products from YSL – the new Summer collection, the Babydoll Collection (with the focus being the Baby Doll Mascara that I reviewed here) plus the staples of the YSL brand – touche eclat, the foundation plus the cult classic under eye brightener – seen below in the pretty limited edition packaging for 2013.

YSL summer collageThe picture above is me with Fred Letailleur, YSL Make-up Artist for Northern Europe – who created the look in the photo above using a selection of products from the Summer range, the famous glow-giving technique of YSL and the Baby Doll Collection Glossy Stain in ‘Rose Baby Doll’.

The two stand outs for me from the Summer collection are the eyeshadow palette – Love, love, love the colours in this – the golds and browns make it easy to wear, I adore the shimmering pinky gold colour too and then there’s the rich jewel purple give it a colour pop of interest. The bronzers are also a winner for me – I’m still eeking out the last pops of colour from the Limited Edition Terre Saharienne releases for Summer from YSL last year so happy to have a new bronzing addition to the collection. The shade I have here is number 10 – the palest shade with just a nice amount of warm pinky tones to it so it is really flattering and not at all muddy on my paler skin.

If you only buy one thing from the collection I would recommend the palette – it really is a stunner for Summer!

I really like the packaging of these products! They seems so luxurious 🙂 I own one YSL lipstick that my mom bought me but other than that it’s WAY out of my budget haha. Great post!

The lipstick shade looks absolutely beaut on you!! I am in love with the eyeshadow palette. That navy/cobalt blue is calling my name, would look so amazing on holiday with a bit of a tan and a nude lip! Uh oh……..
