Rather excitedly, I recently purchased my first pair of Louboutins. I went classic of course, as I am certainly not a vastly experienced fancy-shoe buyer, having only previously bought a special pair for my wedding. But for around six months I have had a pair of classic Louboutins sitting right at the top of my ‘wish list’ for shopping. But as much as I love my new shoes, they’re not going to be a seasonal purchase for sure. But what may very well be an option will be the seasonal colours from Louboutin Beauty. The Louboutin Beauty Spring 2015 offering speaks right to my blue-loving heart…
The trio of colours and the little wardrobe style packaging they come in are inspired by the ‘Python Vulcano’ Spring Collection. With each of the key three shades of the collection being featured and the same multi coloured python print on the outside.
The packaging of the nail colours themselves is striking enough as it is – with the long tapered handle, that’s gorgeously weighted too. It just feels like pure luxury quality. The three shades in the collection are: True Blue (my fave) a gorgeous periwinkle blue, like Royal blue with a bit of powderyness to it. Gorgeously creamy and a touch softer than pure Royal blue. Hot Chick is the yellow shade – in this trio is the first time I’ve actually liked a yellow polish. It’s bright, but not too bright and when alongside the other two shades looks lovely and fresh. Then there’s the white ‘Salonu’, it’s a slightly off-white shade really, which makes it more flattering and less like Tippex-nails. For a white to apply this opaque with only two coats, I was seriously impressed.
If you could buy them as singles then my order of preference would be: Royal Blue, Salonu, Hot Chick… in case you were wondering!
Sure, there’s no denying that £65 is an awful lot of money to spend on three nail colours. But you and I both know that the beauty world isn’t always logical and sometimes lust = spending. And it is a fair bit cheaper than the matching pair of heels!?
I have to say, back in 2014 when Louboutin Beauty first launched I attended the event and was treated to a manicure with the signature red shade. To this day it’s still the best manicure I’ve had in terms of glossy finish and staying power – this one lasted almost 10 days without a chip… considering it’s just simple polish and not a gel or shellac sort of product, this is impressive. For £36 for the Rouge Louboutin it’s pricey, but it does make this trio seem more reasonable…three for the price of two!?
Girly maths aside, this trio is a beauty if you want a truly luxe beauty treat for your fingers. Plus will look gorgeous on display too…
