Those clever folks over at Nails Inc have been releasing all sorts of exciting new launches recently – with new Concrete polishes and their new take on the glitter sort of polish with ‘Feathers’, where instead of glitter there are little ‘shards’ of pigments that layer over each other in a selection of colours for a unique effect. The concreate polish is very unusual too – with a sort of gritty texture to it so it has a slightly unusual overall finish that’s in dramatic contrast to the traditional glossy manicure finish. Colour wise… one of these has me head over heels! But which one…
The blue ‘Stonehenge’ has me totally won over – I wasn’t so sure about the texture, but I absolutely love this. The texture keeps it looking unusual and the bright blue just totally impressed me. One of the best things about these textured finish polishes is the speed at which they dry. Especially the Concrete ones – the feathers are slightly slower, but the concrete finish makes things quicker. I found the blue had a more even textured finish than the yellow. The yellow ‘Monument’ isn’t my most loved shade, but I do like how interesting it is – is has a slightly grungy shade to it that makes it really interesting.
Then onto the feather – the ‘shards’ in ‘Brighton’ are pale blue and pale yellow. In the swatch above is layered over a pale grey shade as a base, I like how this makes it look a little softer than just the pastel shades of the texture. There are also a few other shades available – including a blue and white one called ‘Cornwall’ that looks amazing (I think I’m having a blue nail moment here…)
What are your thoughts when it comes to the new wave of textured/nail art nail polishes – personally, I love them but they do have a bit of a ‘fad’ side to them, a bit like the crackle polish that I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing now (maybe a tad dramatic there…) but you know what I mean!
Which is your pick of these three texture polishes?
