Boots has been really upping it’s nail game recently – with the addition of Essie, Sinful colours and the wonderful Butter London. I have to be honest and say that Butter London is one of the most lust-worthy nail brands I have come across. Everything from the shade selection to the names to the packaging appeals to me! So in honour of them now being on sale in larger Boots stores, I thought it would be a good time to take a look at the Summer collection:
|L-R: Champers, Marbs, Poole, Posh Bird, Bit Faker, Sunbaker|
My favourite thing about this collection is the variety of the colours – and that they’re not just the typical brights or trendy neons that are popular this year. It has the combination of golds and bronzes that are perfect for that sun kissed skin look – and with the range of shades there’s something for all skin tones. For example that brighter orange ‘Sunbaker’ metallic will look amazing on darker skin tones (although I do think it looks pretty striking on pale skin too!), whilst the paler ones can go for the ‘Champers’ cooler champagne colour.
Marbs and Bit Faker (yellow gold and bronze glitter) will suit most skin tones but look unique on each of them. Bit Faker works well when layered over other colours too – although it is densely packed and only two coats cover the nail so would want to go light if you want other colour to show through.
Then there are the two slightly different shades in the collection – and my two personal favourites! Poole and Posh Bird, the pale Tiffany blue type of turquoise (which of course I love) and Posh Bird, the purple/grey/taupe shimmer that’s also right up my street. A lovely shade – and these two work well together, either for nail art or accent nail looks. Posh Bird does take a bit of layering to get a deeper colour – three or possibly four coats would be best. But Poole is good after just two.
Overall, another gorgeous range of colours with some slightly cheeky names and now available in Boots! Happy days!
