Nars One Night Stand Palette

It’s been a while since I’ve been so taken by a new product that I’ve gone into full beauty-mission mode. Running (fast walking) to the nearest store on my lunch, to no joy. Then purchasing online in basically sheer desperation to get my hands on something that if I was really honest with myself I don’t need. But do I want it? Hell yes! So the purchase was made and here’s a little look. I’ll post a full review with swatches next week but for now – let’s just admire the gorgeousness of the NARS Guy Bourdin One Night Stand Palette.

If you’re a sucker for a lovely blusher, be warned…this is a beauty!

The blusher shades included are (top left-right): Devotee Highlighting Blush, Mistinguette Blush, Orgasm and (bottom left-right) Laguna, Deep Throat, Goulue.

Devotee is the highlighter of the six, with Mustinguette the bright pink – a little like MAC well dressed in the sense that it might look a bit intimidating but gives a gorgeous healhty glow. Then there’s the classic Orgasm with it’s peachy pink shade with golden shimmer. Then on the bottom row there’s the famous Laguna Bronzer – a brown with subtle shimmer, Deep Throat (the slightly peachier cousin on Orgasm…those cheeky naming NARS folk…) then finally Goulue a deep pink that will make a lovely berry shade of blush for Autumn/Winter.

For me it was basically the Mistinguette highlighter and Deep Throat that sold it to me – I love a good highlighter and Deep Throat has been on my wishlist since I had it applied at the Astalift foundation launch a few weeks or so ago.

Is it good value for £45 – well, I say yes. Six blushers that you would happily pay around £26 each for in one pretty palette? In my make-up obsessed mind that is a bargain!

The palette is available on Space NK now (although I believe it’s been very popular and is on back order) I predict it wont be long until this sells out so if you want one I suggest buying ASAP!

The palette is gorgeous but the guy behind it is not (and I’m talking about his personality and how his photographs seem to speak of his opinion of women, not his face), so I don’t really feel comfortable giving this particular line my money.
