I really, really like Sally Hansen nail colours – they always have colours that appeal to me and the quality for the price is really impressive. Plus they have nicely shaped bottles – one of the other shallow things that makes me happy.
Well Sally Hansen has released a Limited Edition Collection for Autumn, inspired by New York Fashion Week – with a selection of shades inspired by iconic designers from the Big Apple Catwalks. Designers including Prabal Gurung, Rodarte and Tracey Reese. I have all but one of the shades to show you here – the one missing is a pretty red called ‘Perfectly Poppy’. But the shades below more than suitably cover the AW nail trend wardrobe needs…
So running left to right we have:
Night Watch – a deep and moody navy blue. Gorgeous shade and I think this is my favourite of the collection. Two coats are plenty for this and look perfectly creamy and opaque.
Loden Green – I used to be a real fan of khaki/army green nails but seem to have changed my mind as don’t love this one. This is probably the poorest in the bunch in terms of opacity on two coats (all swatches above are two coats) and this one would definitely need a third.
Stocking Nude – A nice nude but probably more suited to olive or darker skin tones as thing on paler skins it tends to go a bit yellow-ish. But on anyone with a hint of a tan this looks like a lovely polished nail colour. Also great creamy application.
Coat of Arms – A sort of burnished gold that I absolutely adore. Gorgeous shade, bling without being in your face – adds a pop of sparkle but in a muted way. Gorgeous. Also love the idea of this on the tips of the Night Watch shade as an alternative french manicure.
New Wave Blue – Shock news, the turquoise shade isn’t my top pick from a collection. I know. BIG NEWS. It is a nice colour and gorgeous to apply, but not as unique as some of the others so just doesn’t grab my attention quite as much. But is a nice deeper teal twist on the shade for Autumn.
My top pick would definitely be the Night Watch and Coat of Arms as a pair! Which do you have your eye on?
