Illamasqua #Creators Collection: The Nails

Illamasqua were one of the first brands that I think really jumped on the blogger band wagon – they were one of the first brands I ever received an email from and the first event I ever went to. For me it’s a brand that has some really special and unique products, but also some that are frankly intimidating. Yes, I am a girl who loves her safer products (apart from nails, I’m pretty open to whatever goes when it comes to nails) but for makeup – I don’t think I’ll ever be the one in green lipgloss…

Obviously blogging has changed a lot over the years and Illamasqua as a brand have evolved, as has blogging. But their latest blogger relationship has extended to the ‘Creators’ campaign and it was one that caught my eye – firstly because some of my favourite bloggers are involved and also because the products are really unique.

Yinka from Vex in the City and Suzi from Style Suzi got to create their own nail varnishes and both looked really lovely so I placed a little order for them and one of the lipgloss (more on that shortly) – and here they are for a closer look…

Yinka’s shade ‘Fusion’ is a gorgeous deep bronze with a liberal sparkling of golden shimmery bits that resemble a dark sky dotted with stars:

Suzi’s shade ‘Perseid’ is a sort of inter-galactic sky with purple/blue shimmer interspersed with various size and colour glitter. To create the ‘random’ chaotic look of outer space.

Yinka’s is the more polished of the two, one that I absolutely love for Autumn. Whereas Suzi’s is a fun shade that is right up my street in terms of colour – the chunky glitter does make it a little less easy to get a near application but the shade it worth a bit of effort.

Suzi’s would look great over a blue, purple or navy base to give the shade a bit of extra depth.

The other two products in the collection are both lip glosses – one, ‘Culminate’ a golden copper by the lovely Milly from Pearls and Poodles and another ‘Wanderlust’ a sort of lime green sort of shade created by Munroe Bergdorf.

Whilst Wanderlust isn’t for me, Culminate is a lovely product so will follow up with a separate post featuring this one!

I won Fusion in the Illamasqua Instagram Competition and have worn it all the time since! I really love it and it goes with everything! Illamasqua varnishes are my favourite, they last for ages!

Those two shades look amazing! I also think Illamasqua is on of the best varnishes out there!
