For the second post on ‘beauty box day’ we have Birchbox January 2014* – the ‘tiny tweaks’ edition. Along the same sort of New Year theme, this Birchbox is all about making the small changes to your life and routine that you can stick do. I am a big fan of the whole ‘small changes: big results’ idea – small daily things that when added up, really count for something big. I’m never going to cut out all carbs for example, but perhaps choosing a salad with a side of bread sticks next time I go to Pizza Express, rather than a garlic pizza bread followed by pasta…a small change, but they add up.
An interesting mix – with the Itsu Miso Soup. Not everyone’s taste but I love miso soup – and I do love my food. So to find a little bit of food in amongst the beauty is always welcome. Then there’s the Body Oil – a tiny tweak on using a lotion, but makes a real difference to the skin. Rodial Bee Venom moisturiser – I don’t always love how Rodial brand their products, but they have always left me impressed with the quality and results so looking forward to trying this.
The Vasanti detox Cleanser is a welcome addition – who doesn’t want to detox their skin a bit? Maybe it’s just me after a few days of indulgence – but I always love a good deep clean.
Then there’s the Philip Kingsley Conditioner – on first look I thought this was the Elasticiser which is a fab deep conditioner, but this is the Moisturse Balancing conditioner variant. I do really like Philip Kingsley hair care so this is a good addition to the box.
Finally there’s a little tube of the Benefit Porefessional Primer – a product I have reviewed already, so to see what I think check out my Benefit Porefessional review post.
Overall I am very impressed with this box – a nice mix of head to toe products that give you the chance to not just focus on one area but do a few little ‘tiny tweaks’ all over to make you look/feel better. My top pick would be the Rodial Moisturiser – I don’t really have one I’m least excited by actually. I was going to say the Miso Soup, but that’s not true – I am actually really excited as I love food?! Overall – a great box!
