If you like pink, then the NARS Final Cut Collection * will probably give you a similar reaction to mine when I first saw this. Mine was to ‘ooh’ and ‘ahh’ more with each opening of a blush palette….with increasing excitement with each shade…
The first I saw was the pretty ‘Love’ shade, that’s a rosy pink. Then there was the brighter pink shade ‘New Attitude’ – which got an even more dramatic squeal of excitement. Then lastly I opened the peachy perfect ‘Final Cut’ and almost ‘whooped’. Yes, this trio of lovely peachy pinky shades got me very excited – each one has a matte finish so quite natural looking on the skin without any shimmer. The rosey pinky ‘Love’ shade is the suit-all one, with the pink probably being better for paler skins for a flush of colour, then the peachy ‘Final Cut’ probably looking better on tanned skin – not that that will stop me from using it, as this is my favourite of the three.
So beyond the three blushers here (there’s actually a fourth in the collection – a pale pink that’s not shown here) there’s also a liquid illuminator and four lip pencils. The lip pencils each pair with one of the blushers so you can use matching/complimentary blush and lip products together.
The four lip shades are Villa Lante (a bright pink that works well with New Attitude blusher), Torres Del Paine (a peachy nude that works with Final Cut blusher), Descanso (a rosy pink that is a match for Love blusher) and Stourhead that matches with Sex Fantasy (not shown) a pale pink.
For the lip crayons, I like all the shades other than probably the Stourhead shade that would just be too pale on me. The other three though are lovely – a lovely mix of brights, peachy and nude. Plus they’re the creamy lip formula (Satin Lip Pencil) rather than matte. So nice and comfortable to wear.
Then there’s the Illuminator – which is a lovely bright pink, with a cool toned sheen to it. When blended out it does have a bit of glitter that tends to get left behind when the colour gets blended out. For that reason, I’m not quite sure how I’d go about using this – would be one I’d keep for night rather than day as the glitter would be a but much for daytime.
If I had to choose, my favourites from the collection would be the Final Cut blusher and Torres Del Paine Satin Lip Pencil. But it is a tough call with the blushers as love all three of them!
