I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve chatted about a Glossy Box – but this post is all about Glossy Box June 2014 and the Summer-themed contents that come within it! I can see Glossy Box having a few changes this year, since the start of the year they have launched the glossier boxes and added in the Glossy Mags but at the end of the day the bit that really matters to a subscriber is what’s in the box… so with that in mind lets move swiftly along!
So this months contents are a pretty fun mixed bag – there are two I love, two I really like and one I’m a bit ‘meh’ about (there’s always got to be one!) so in order of preference:
L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes Mascara – love mascara and love a full sized make-up item, so this was a no brainer for a ‘love’.
Rituals Qi Gong – I’m a big fan of Rituals in general and love that this little mini sized deodorant is included as it really is a handbag/festival/holiday essential. I thought it was a shower foam, which would have been lovely as I do really like those – but happy to find it’s something I haven’t tried before.
Trendy Cosmetics eye shadow brush – love the design and the shape of the brush, the only thing that makes it a like instead of a love is that the bristles are a bit scratchy. But other than that, really like it.
Nail Girls Clear Nail Varnish – As a local Islington girl, I like Nail Girls and have been to the salon before. I like this product, but can’t get quite as excited about a clear as I would a colour – would have been nicer to see a colour in there to be honest. Making this a like rather than love for me.
The So Susan Concealer Quad is the ‘meh’ product for me of this months box, the exterior packaging is cute – but once you take the box off you’re left with a pretty cheap looking little plastic compact and I just can’t see myself using the shades in the sizes they are. A nice idea as a concealer compact is handy and it is great to see another make-up item in there as they are the ones I think get a bit more excitement going. But for me, I just don’t see myself reaching for it. From the website I think I spotted that it’s either the concealer quad OR a So Susan blusher… so there’s another option out there!
But as I do always say when it comes to a beauty box, it is a rare, rare, day when you get a box filled with 100% of loves – that’s the gamble of a beauty box delivery over self-select shopping! But whilst it’s a gamble ,it’s also the fun part too!
