Urban Decay recently added two new members to the Naked Skin Beauty Balm range with these two – one for Illuminating and the other for Bronzing. Both in the same style packaging as the orignal Nake Skin BB Cream but these two have their new twists of adding a touch of glow or a touch of bronze. Both basically perfect Summer skin additions.
The first thing I would say is whilst these do blend to a light/sheer finish – if you do have *really* pale skin then you may want to go easy and do some serious blending to make these work. But if you do have a touch of colour then these are such lovely enhancers – the Illuminating one is the one I was mostly surprised with as I was expecting a pearly finish with more shimmer but it really is just a bit of a glow-giver. Then the bronzing one is absolutely perfect to either fake a just-back-from-holiday glow or make one last a bit longer when back to the UK or wherever it is you call home!
The bronzing one has a good tone to it that means you can avoid the Tango orange look and keep it on the olive side of things. When applied and blended it can look lovely and natural and feels very light on the skin.
I personally would opt to wear these on their own – but you could always combine/layer with foundation for a glow/colour boost – though for me in Summer I like to keep things as light and simple as possible! For a holiday the bronzing one would be the only base I’d wear as they really do offer that subtle blurring effect it’s all you need.
I have another Urban Decay post coming your way soon – all about wedding make-up (not mine!) so keep your eyes peeled!
