What do you want from me?

blogging plans

Now, the title indicates that this is a strop-laden post. It’s not. At all. But over the past few weeks I’ve been pondering the blog, how it is now, how I want it to be and what it’s future might be. One thing that’s really dawned on me is that my focus isn’t always where it should be. I have always been a big believer in the ‘my blog, my rules’ kinda approach – and in many ways I stick by it. But in other ways, I don’t necessarily want the blog to be all about just stuff I want to talk about and that’s the end of it. I want it to be a place for people/readers to come and enjoy a bit of an escape from life, have a little read, a little look at photos, maybe discover a new product, add something new to the wish list. So I want it to be a nice balance between the stuff I love to write about and the stuff you love to read.

What I’m trying to say is that I maybe haven’t always been as focussed on what you guys reading this want to see/read/watch. Whoever you are, if you just love beauty blogs, are a blogger yourself, are a friend of mine or even family. You might be working for a brand or a PR agency – or someone who just stumbled across this via google. You might have been reading since way back in 2009 when I started, or just today. Whoever you are, and for whatever reason it is you’re reading, thank you. And second to the huge thanks (I can never really say it enough – thank you). I’d love to get a little insight into what you like/don’t like about the blog. What you would like to see more of/less of. Is there anything you would like me to do that I don’t? Or something you want me to stop doing?! A type of content you would love more of, or even specific ideas for stuff you would like to see.

Basically, I don’t ever want to loose sight of the fact that without lovely people reading my blog I may as well be sitting in a room talking to myself. As much as I love it and want to keep it very personal to me – I want to make sure I’m doing my best and working my hardest to give readers what they want too. Of course if you tell me you want 1000 posts per day and me to transform into a unicorn I may not be able to deliver… but where I can, I will try my very best as I want to make my little corner of the internet one that other people really want to come and visit to see what’s going on. So if you are happy to take a moment and give me some constructive feedback I’d very much welcome it.

I’ve set up a short little survey (below) so if you want to answer anon you can do (please do try and keep it constructive/positive) or feel free to just leave a little comment below on your thoughts. You’re welcome to drop me an email (jen@beautyjunkielondon.com) or tweet (@beautyjunkieldn) if you prefer too. I figured asking is the best way to find out rather than just guessing what is liked based on comments and traffic!?

As I said, I just want to make this blog the best it can be – for both myself and for anyone who takes the time to read it. So whatever help/feedback you’re happy to share is very much appreciated. Even if you don’t want to take the time to share anything – thank you just for stopping by!

Thank you!xxx
