I was so excited when & Other Stories launched in London and ever since it’s always been a must-visit store when in the area of Regent’s Street. They recently launched four Eau de Toilette Fragrances and from reading the different mixes of scents, I could tell they were going to be rather special. These are the & Other Stories Eau de Toilette fragrances: Punk Bouquet, Botanic Whisper, Fig Fiction and Moroccan Tea.
Taking it from left to right, a little summary/thoughts on each below:
Botanic Whisper – If you like Jo Malone Orange Blossom but maybe want an affordable version, this is a great bet. Orange Blossom is a scent that will always have a soft spot with me as it’s one from my wedding day (more on this soon). This is fresh but sweet – nice and light and one that works year round. The sweetness of the orange blossom is softened with a hint of coriander.
Punk Bouquet – Described as ‘frothy vanilla soda on a rebellious rose bouquet’. It’s the vanilla soda that hits you first when you smell it – literally like a vanilla soda drink, followed by a rush of flowery rose. But the vanilla keeps it soft rather than super girly. Quite a young smelling fragrance I think but a lovely modern twist on rose. The vanilla makes it quite fun.
Fig Fiction – I think Fig is one of those scents most either love or hate. I love it – it’s sweet without being sickly thanks to the ‘greenness’ of this it’s a lovely blend between that green/fresh cut leaves scent and sweet fig. Smells like gardens in Summer time. Lovely stuff.
Moroccan Tea – As someone with a weakness for mint, I had a good feeling about this one. It’s like a blend of tea and mint – not just like spraying peppermint tea on you. Literally the soft scent of amber tea with fresh mint. An unusual one as I don’t tend to notice mint in many fragrances but this makes it really interesting. Minty fresh goodness. Love this.
In terms of favourites, I can honestly say there’s something really likeable about all of these. They’re affordable but not generic – a rare combination to find! It’s actually easier to identify which is my least loved rather than most – so I’ll say Punk Bouquet is my least favourite. But of the other three… really, really like them all.
Also – love the simple glass and printed ribbon packaging. Like everything & Other Stories – simple & stylish.
