My Little Box – My Little Frenchie Box

The beauty box market in the UK is a little bit crazy right now. There are so many it can be totally overwhelming to see what one you should consider signing up to, or go with the one-off boxes, or mix and match… do you want pure beauty, or do you want lifestyle? Do you want customised or surprise products… SO MANY OPTIONS. One of the more recent additions to the UK offering is the French ‘My Little Box’ and this is a little peek at the My Little Frenchie box.

Firstly, My Little Box is adorably designed. With cute illustrations and a unique box design each time. The contents of each themed box are a blend of 2/3 beauty bits – usually with one own-brand one. Plus a couple of other lifestyle items – previous ones have been a dinky expresso cup, a laptop case and a note book. This month’s offering is a little wallet for your smartphone – with front pocket that’s ideal to hold a pair of headphones too.

Then there’s the slightly random but no less adorable inclusion of the little glass jar filled with inspiring notes/little tips. Including the one I unwrapped today which was about always taking your make-up off.  A cute addition, if a little bit pointless – it’s still a bit of fun.

Beauty wise this box is a bumper one – with DHC Blotting Paper (a Japanese brand in a French box?), a L’Oreal Brow Pencil – lovely but too dark for me. A By Terry eyeliner – a gorgeous one and definitely a special addition to the box! Then there’s the My Little Beauty product – adorable packaging (think if Lauren Conrad designed beauty products…they would look this stylish and pretty). This month’s inclusion is a peachy tinted cream – really nice to add a bit of brightness to dull Winter skin.

The main thing about My Little Box that gets me hooked every month is that the contents are so unique – you never know what you’re going to get and you know it will always look lovely. A different proposition to all the other UK beauty boxes but definitely one to watch. My only tiny question mark over the products is how many of them are absolutely cute but a little bit novelty… perhaps they look lovely for a photo but then get put to the side – What do you think?

I always look forward to these boxes…they’re like Pandora’s box! I agree, they’re very original (I was totally disappointed with Look Fantastic’s last box). but I do have a few novelties that end up in the charity box. The standard of the cosmetic items is consistently good. I think I’d prefer to trade in some of the novelties for a few extra samples. I don’t need a phone holder and I’m not sure I need a daily anecdote either!

I love looking at My LIttle Frenchie Box blog posts; I wish I could get it in Australia! DHC blotting papers are AH-MAZING. I picked some up when I was in Japan last year, and they are by far the best blotting papers I have ever tried. x
