Charlotte Tilbury is a veritable force of the make-up world. Her range has caught beauty lovers hearts and in all honesty, can basically do no wrong. Everything she’s launched is stellar and as such, very much lusted after. Probably one of the most in demand and most loved products being Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Cheat Lip Liner. That perfectly easy to wear nude pink that flatters so many skin tones. Well, as much as I do adore Charlotte Tilbury I was having a little play with a few pieces over the weekend and was a bit excited to stumble across something that immediately stuck out as a cheaper alternative Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk dupe …
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk dupe
First things first, there is no denying that Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk is an awesome lip product – not just for lining, I know plenty of people who go whole hog and fill the whole lips in with this perfectly pink nude shade. Think the ultimate ‘my lips but better’ lip liner. It’s not only a lovely shade but also creamy and soft rather than harsh and sharp to apply – as many cheaper lip liners can be. For me, it was one of the products I used on my wedding day so immediately one I have a soft spot for. However, at £16 it’s slightly more towards the pricey side so it’s nice to know I can maybe get the same look for a budget price…
*In steps the dupe*
So, the dupe I have found is a shade from the L’Oreal Lip Liner Couture Range by Colour Riche called Beige a Nu (630). Confusingly having looked at shades online at both Boots & Superdrug there seems to be some confusion somewhere along the line on shade names and numbers as the Superdrug listing for shade 630 is called Cafe de Flore and Boots is listed as just ‘Beige’… But regardless of name as listed… It’s a shade that is almost identical to Pillow Talk when side by side and once applied it’s almost impossible to tell the different (if you can, then you have better eyesight than me for sure…). But of course they are different products, so there are differences but these are mainly in packaging and texture than in actual shade. The L’Oreal isn’t as buttery soft as the Charlotte Tilbury and took a moment to ‘warm up’ to apply the colour in the same sort of smooth glide as the Lip Cheat. The rose gold Charlotte Tilbury packaging is a little more instagram worthy than the snake-skin effect L’Oreal – although I do like this slightly more luxe packaging for L’Oreal than just the typical smooth effect.
What do you think of this Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk dupe? A good bargain match? At £3.99 vs £16 I think it’s a pretty awesome budget alternative, but sometimes you can’t beat the original?!
