Tom Ford Lipstick {Beauty}

If there’s one thing that never fails to get a beauty addicts heart racing, then it’s seeing that simple TF on the bullet of a stunning lip colour. There’s no denying a Tom Ford lippie (or any other item to be fair) is a splurge – but boy are they beautiful. They’re not just style over substance either – they’re some of the nicest lipsticks I’ve ever tried. As you would hope for the price tag – but there’s nothing more disappointing than buying a premium product and it not living up to your expectations (that have no doubt been set high due to the price tag). These Tom Ford Lipstick shades are some of the new additions to the range – with a while host of pretty pictures and a closer look/swatches below.

Left to right we have: Flash of Pink, Bare Peach, Virgin Rose, Lilac Nymph and Forbidden Pink. Each described in my own beauty-junkie interpretation as:

Flash of Pink – Rich rosy pink with a hint of shimmer

Bare Peach – Pale nude/peach with subtle silvery sheen.

Virgin Rose – Mid toned pink. The perfectly flattering ‘my lips but better’ shade’ LOVE.

Lilac Nymph – Lilac toned pinky cream shade with a name that makes me want to don a body suit and tutu and frolic in the forest (like a nymph not like a crazy person).

Forbidden Pink – A salmon pinky nude shade that looks less flattering in bullet than it does when applied.

I normally veer away from shimmer type lip shades as they have a tendency to highlight each and every lip ‘flaw’ (think a slight bit of chapped lips or a tiny dehydrated furrow that becomes a canyon or deep abyss). But in Tom Ford style, the two shades with that bit of sheen to them (Flash of Pink and Bare Peach) both apply beautifully creamy and the sheen translates into just a nice healthy looking shine on the lips.

All these shades are gorgeously wearable – with perhaps Lilac Nymph being the one that is least likely to suit-all. My top pick would have to be Virgin Rose – a beaut of a shade that I have worn many a time as a day to dat lip shade lately. But I also really like Flash of Pink and Forbidden Pink too as easy to wear shades that apparently speak to my inner pink lover?!

Which shades are the stand outs to you!? And have you had (or would you be happy to have) a little Tom Ford beauty splurge?! Would the lipsticks be your first pick from the range? Personally – I just love the special feeling that using a Tom Ford lipstick gives me. It’s like an instant upgrade when I’m having a bad face day.
