Splurge vs Save: Garnier Moisture Bomb & Bliss Fabulous Drench ‘n’ Quench

I am a total sucker for a moisturiser that promises to be an intense hit of moisture in one light feeling splash. So you can imagine how I was pretty happy to see two new ones hit my ‘to test’ pile in a matter of days. Here we have the Garnier Skin Active Moisture Bomb Super-Recharching Antioxidant Gel-Cream (a little bit of a mouthful) and the Bliss Fabulous Drench ‘n’ Quench Cream-to-water lock-in moisturiser. Ok, so neither rolls off the tongue but they both have a couple of key things in common so wanted to show them side by side as a splurge vs save option if you too are in need of a gel like hit of moisture.

Garnier Moisture Bomb

Texture wise, these are both really similar. Both a blue tinted gel like formula, that feels like it almost turns to water as you massage into skin. It feels really light and really refreshing to apply. The Garnier one is technically the ‘night cream’ version of the Moisture Bomb range, and there’s a complimentary day cream (with SPF) that’s a more traditional cream like formula. Regardless of that I’ve been using it in the day time and have no issue with that other than of course I need to add a seperate SPF to ensure my skin is protected. The Bliss product also doesn’t have SPF and is recommended for day or night – so either way with both of these, they both need the SPF added on.

These are both awesome if you have dehydrated or combination skin and want to hydrate without going too heavy. Or if you just prefer lighter texture moisturisers – you can’t get much lighter than either of these. They are like water, that has a lasting effect. When applied your skin will feel instantly hydrated and refreshed. The biggest difference? The price. Bliss comes in at £29.50 and Garnier at £7.99 – when it comes down to pure feel and effect, I can’t really tell them apart. I’m sure there will be something in the ingredients or even just personal preference which will make you choose one over the other (I prefer the scent of the Bliss one for example) but here you have a splurge and a save option for a comparable gel-like moisturiser!

    Hi
Have just received my Bliss Drench n Quench and YES very similar to Garnier Time Bomb! Have used Garnier and like at night. Having just opened jar of Bliss – first impression is it’s not as moisturising as have just applied to back of my hand! Will give try and hope I won’t feel duped!! Loads of money for a very similar effect.
