Scrub Up Real Good

I’ve often talked about how pampering for me is one of those things that always makes me feel better – it’s what got me into beauty blogging in the first place. A love of pampering, that hour or two of shutting yourself away from the world, have a bath, face mask, scrub and moisturiser. There’s something about a good pampering session that really does scrub the day off and leave me feeling smooth and refreshed. Which is where Scrub Love come in.

Scrub Love

Especially if you’re into fake tan, then it’s basically essential – but if you’re not into fake tan (I’ve been off the band wagon for a while) it’s still my ultimate ‘summer body’ thing. I’m not a believer in the whole ‘bikini body’ thing really, any body is welcome to wear whatever and however you feel comfortable. But a scrub is my personal go-to for feeling comfortable in my own skin – as who doesn’t want silky smooth and hydrated skin. No matter how much or little you feel like showing off.

Caffeine Scrubs have long been some of the best for a properly invigorating body scrub option. It seems to have been a real trend this year and one of the cutest packaged ones I’ve seen and tried so far is Scrub Love. Scrub Love has three variants – Original Lovin’, Coconut Affair and Mint Temptation – all ground coffee  based scrubs in polka dot sachets, combined with a whole host of hydrating skin-loving oils. The products are all organic, fairtrade, Rainforest-Alliance approved AND ethically sourced – oh, and they’re made in the UK. They’re also free from artificial colours, fragrances, parabens and preservatives. Plus they never test on animals.

I have always been an absolute sucker for anything minty and this is no exception – on first sniff the minty one totally won me over. Don’t get me wrong, I love a coffee scent – even though I’m definitely not a coffee addict by any means – but mint. Mint has me having all sorts of heart eyes emojis. It’s a perfect morning shower scrub as the mint scent is the perfect perky scrub to wake you up.

The Coconut One is dreamy for pre-beach preparation. Again, it doesn’t matter where you going and if you’re going for a full on one piece or and itsy bitsy bikini. The scent of coconut is the ultimate way to speed yourself straight to a beach. So even if a holiday isn’t on the cards you can be all ready for baring a flash of skin on those precious British summer days! The texture of the scrub is actually fairly dry and grainy, but like each grain has been well soaked with lovely oils. Always apply to dry skin, scrub all over and then rinse off in the shower (and maybe give your shower a once over too to get rid of any left over grains). The scent of the coffee and the essential oils will linger on your skin and you will be able to immediately see how soft and smooth it is. I’ve been loving using a small handful as a great pre-manicure scrub treat to keep my hands really silky soft.

There’s no denying, a coffee scrub isn’t the neatest of options. Nope, your bathroom isn’t going to look spotless after a Scrub Love session – but, I can promise it’s worth it for that silky soft skin feeling.

Price for a sachet ranges from £11.95-£13.95 depending which scent if your favourite. Each sachet is 200ml and a little goes a long way – a small hand full would be plenty to scrub both arms.

I’ve always wanted to try a coffee scrub they sound great, especially the mint one. I’m just so lazy once I’ve got out of the bath or shower so I wouldn’t want to clean up the mess lol.
