When it comes to fragrance, there’s one type that immediately makes me go all heart-eyes-emoji and that’s the ones that smell like clean, fresh laundry. So anything described as nude/clean/naked/cotton/laundry always catches my eye…or should that be nose. So when I heard about this new addition to the Marc Jacobs fragrance family, I already had a gut feeling that I would love it and I was definitely right. This is Marc Jacobs Cotton and if you join me in the love of all things clean/fresh smelling then you need to check this baby out.
Firstly, the bottle – it’s simple but pretty. It’s all smooth, rounded glass and nice chunky base with tall black lid. Feels good quality and fits with the classic, simple Marc Jacobs style.
Scent wise, it’s a fresh summery scent that manages to be sort of comforting at the same time. I think is why I like these clean scents – they combine the fresh side with something familiar at the same time. I love the idea of wearing a natural ‘clean’ fresh smell (obviously showered and clean myself, but wearing a fragrance helps make that fresh feeling last and linger a bit more).
Whilst it’s a cottony scent, it’s descriped as a floral musk. So opens with fruity floral notes of Peach, Mandarin, Bergamot and Aquatic Accord. Then the heart notes of Lavender, Jasmine, Cotton Accord and Lily of the Valley. Then base powdery notes of White Suede, Blonde Woods, Musk.
It’s a unisex scent – something I’ve always loved and just smells every bit as clean and fresh as it sounds. Perfect for every day and one I’ve been wearing a lot for a couple of weeks now. Love. If you like things like Clean Beauty fragrances then definitely give this a whirl.
