Three things I’ve loved – January 2017

I don’t tend to do the usual monthly favourites on my blog. Mainly because I tend to have favourites that last month after month with little change. Which doesn’t exactly make for exciting content. But in 2017 I want to try and do a very little highlights posts each month. Featuring three things (not always beauty) that I’ve loved over the past month. Kicking off with these three for January.

Indeed Labs 10 Balm Soothing Cream* – Look Fantastic (£19.99)

This has been a bit of a wonder product for me through December and January travels. 10Balm is an intensive healing/soothing cream. To help skin that’s sensitive or irritated – which is perfect for Winter really. It’s light too, so not like a thick balm as other similar products can be. I find it’s a perfect all rounder. I’ve been using it any time I’m away for a one night trip or a weekend – or flights. As it’s good for hands/cuticles/face. Anywhere that needs some gentle moisture. I’ve loved using it over night on my face actually. Really hydrating whilst being gentle too. So if you have sensitive skin it’s well worth adding to your skincare arsenal.

Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Concealer & Corrector* – John Lewis (£28)

This stuff isn’t a new launch, but it was one I tried initially and wasn’t wowed. But then I dug it out again on an almost-no-makeup-day (that’s a thing, promise) when I wanted just a little something to hide dark circles but not a full on face of make-up. This stuff is a sort of hybrid of concealer and skincare in one. If you’re familiar with the Bobbi concealer/corrector offering already you will be familar with the idea – they have a corrector which helps counter the darkness for different skintones then you pop the concealer over the top to even it all out with your skintone. I’ve been using just one or the other at times to brighten/conceal without the need for layering up. But for the ultimate finish you use corrector then concealer. I like them because they’re hydrating at the same time as making me look awake. Perfect every day combo really!

My shades in this are Extra Light Bisque in the corrector and Cool Sand in the concealer.

Kerastase Volumifique Spray Volume* – Feel Unique (£21.80)

A daily (well, any day when I wash my hair that is…) I’ve been spritzing this into the roots and all over to give my hair a bit of all over body and ‘oomph’. Its a slightly tricky one to really review in detail as it’s just a product that works. It doesn’t leave hair crispy or sticky in any way. It just does a good job of making my hair look like it has natural volume to it. Which is exactly what I want from a volumising spray. Probably one of the best spray based volumisers I’ve found! If you have fine hair and want natural, flexible volume that feels like it’s just your hair then this is a winner. When I want my hair to be a bit silkier I combine with a spritz of the Kerastase Elixir Ultime for Fine Hair – the only oil type product that I’ve found that doesn’t weigh my fine hair down.

What have you been loving through January so far? Other than hibernation and all things ‘hygge’… bring on the blankets and pampering please!
