Zoella Lifestyle Desk Makeover

I’ve definitely become ‘that person’ when it comes to the whole ‘tidy house, tidy mind’… which means it’s not the *best* of days when I look at my desk and I’m not even sure I could find my keyboard under all the random rubbish that seems to collect around my work space. How it happens, I have no idea but it pretty much inevitably does. So when I got a lovely delivery of the latest Zoe Sugg launch – Zoella Lifestyle home pieces, it was the perfect excuse to give my desk area bit of a refresh and clear the clutter and give my work-brain a refresh. It’s true – a tidy/organised desk definitely works a treat for inspiration and motivation.

So here’s a few snaps of the pieces in place so you can see the pretty items (that just happen to be a perfect match for my office colour scheme)  and how I’ve used them to give my desk a spruce up. Alongside a few of my existing ‘desk staples’ (not actual staples, you know… just the items I have had on my desk for a while and use a lot). I have a business card holder/phone holder from Kate Spade that was a birthday gift that comes in handy for propping up my phone on my desk so I can do vital things like watch Insta-stories whilst I reply to emails….

I also have a couple of hard drives that are a bit of an eye-sore to be honest – but hey, kinda can’t function without them… so they stay. I have ‘hidden’ one away in an old Birchbox (with the back cut out so it has heat ventilation) but the newest one is a bit chunky for that so just going with it for now. I know Pinterest says you need nothing but sleek perfection on your desk but I also need a hard drive (and it does have USB charging points, so that’s handy). I have a marble and copper ‘J’ coaster from Oliver Bonas that Ollie gave me as a little Christmas gift. A coaster is such a grown up feeling thing to have. I guess it’s true I’m an adult now.

I tend to accumulate random beauty products on my desk. It’s a habit I need to try and break but the two products I can’t have more than a grab-distance away are lip balm and hand cream. Current loves are the Bliss High Intensity Hand Cream and Lanolips Peach. Both just classic, effective products that I can’t really fault at all. I actually like the peach more than the strawberry Lanolips too as sometimes strawberry is a tad too sweet for me. So using the little flower pot as a pencil/pen holder I’ve also popped my go-to hand-cream in there and the Lanolips is close to hand in the little trinket disk. This would come in handy as a bed-side jewellery storage option too if you need something to collect earrings/rings when you go to sleep.

The two note books from the Zoella Lifestyle collection are just lovely – one is a simple notebook, but nice and large for all sorts of world-domination type scribbles and to-d0 lists. The other ‘Stay On Top Of Your World’ is a handy little organising planner type things with a weekly goals note pad plus post-its for lists and highlighting things so you can at least look organised, even when your life is a tad chaos (raises hand…). What is it about a post it that just makes me feel my life is in order?! I do love the personalised touch on the WONDERFUL note pad with my initials too, I don’t think this is available if buying in store, but a lovely little touch.

The finishing touches for the desk make-over is the little cactus ring-holder. I originally planned to pop this by my bed but I actually find I often slip my rings off when I’m working and always want to keep them nearby. Or even if it’s just to apply hand cream or something brief – I want to make sure they’re safe. The tray at the bottom is a perfect little catch-all for memory cards and the like too.

I’ve also replaced the cushion I had on my desk chair. It was a pretty colour mint/marble one (blogger cliche much?) with the Zoella one after Willow might have had a bit of a chew on one of the corners of the old one it was looking very tatty. I still need to find a not-ugly desk chair as the one I have is pretty but doesn’t really do my back any favours when I spend long days sitting in it… so the cushion is actually a nice little back support until I sort finding a suitable chair replacement. It’s a good job I’m sitting on it most of the time though or else I might be tempted to have a little nap. Who doesn’t love a good nap?!

Lastly there’s the cute ‘Inspire’ cold ornamental word. I’ve popped this one just above my keyboard as a little creative reminder to crack on with working hard and producing some good stuff for the old internet.

Hope you like my little desk refresh thanks to some lovely pieces from the Zoella lifestyle collection. I love how Zoe’s range really nails some current colour and patter trends – definitely not just catering to her younger fans at all as a 30-something I’m perfectly happy to add these pastel-pretty items to my office space in an effort to keep it as a clutter-free, motivational space. NOW to crack on with some more work!

I’m not as big of a fan of this Lifestyle range from Zoe as I was of the last one she released, but there are some super cute pieces in here! I love the look of the cloud cushion with the eyes on it, and the trinket dish is really pretty too!

Ooh interesting post, I like that you have given ideas of how to place the pieces, and putting the inspire type just above your keyboard is genius! I’ve been lusting after the cloud trinket dish also! 🙂 xx
