Three: Apps I’m Loving

Although I try to deny it, I am without a doubt one of those people who is surgically attached to my phone. Not really for phone calls but for feeding my internet addiction. Googling random things, checking emails at 2am, checking out the latest Instagram updates or mindlessly scrolling my twitter feed always need to be within arms reach in my opinion. So whilst I’m surgically attached to my phone I thought I might as well be useful and share a few of the apps that are almost always open on my phone right now – outside of the usual Instagram/Twitter/Facebook trio…

Class Pass*

The app has only just launched in London but this is a new fitness offering I’ve been trying and loving lately. You know all over the city there are tons of on-trend exercise classes, all with the typically on-trend prices per session or even more expensive memberships? Well, Class Pass is a bit of a genius idea as it means you can pay one monthly fee of £89 you can book in and take a number of classes all over the city. So fancy doing a spinning class one day and hot yoga the next? Totally ok – no individual memberships needed.

The only ‘catch’ for some may be that not all classes at each venue are open and I believe there’s a limit on how many you can take at each venue. So if you’re looking to basically just do specific spin and yoga sessions at two locations close to your work in regular lunch breaks then it may not be possible, but if you want to try a few different things and are flexible on timing then you’re all set. As someone who is quite flexible on timing and location, so far it’s a big thumbs up from me.

If you follow me on twitter you may already know this, but Ollie and I are potentially going to be moving house. Exciting times. Which basically means we’re both eagle eyed on the Rightmove app, checking out for new properties popping up in our most wanted locations and having a good nosey through floor plans and at photos and seeing if we can imagine living in these homes shown to us through this little clever app.

It is early days on possible house move, but if all goes ahead will let you know. But right now I’m all about the south facing gardens and the walking distance to public transport options… Ok, so maybe not quite as universally appealing as more glam apps out there…but for me it’s an always-open one right now!

Yet another that’s more on the practical than the fabulous side of life…but this is my new ongoing to-do list app that I’ve been loving. Basically because it’s just so simple. Just a phone based to-do list where you can add tasks by day, pin them so they remain until done and then just double tap to get that satisfying cross-off (complete with scribble sound as it strikes through). So simple but particularly handy for errands when out and about – if there’s a bunch of errands or things I need to pick up when I’m out and about then this is so handy as nobody wants to be toting scraps of paper around in the hope of remembering it all…

What apps are your essentials right now…

I’m obsessed with Rightmove. I actually have a place to live that I love. It’s sad but I like to type in a city I’d like to live in, then order the list with the most expensive places first, and then look through photos of fancy houses. ^_^

I am way late to the party, but I have just discovered Spotify, and although I don’t think it will be my main source of music as I like to have my own, I do like that if I don’t feel like making sure a playlist is in the right order and flows I can just stick on a playlist that someone else has spent the time agonising over and I have yet to find a dud!
