When I first saw this collection launch it really caught my eye. Ticking all the Instagram-friendly boxes packaging wise and it felt like a fresh departure for Estee Lauder. A brand that at it’s core is pretty traditional but from time to time launches something really new and interesting and this Estee Lauder Act IV Collection is the perfect example.

The Act IV Collection has been created and fronted by Danielle Lauder – the Great Grandaughter of Estee Lauder and the 4th generation of Lauder in the business. An actress who brings a nod to Hollywood Glamour to this collection but in a modern way. The PR package arrived house in a blush pink movie reel package with rose gold metal reel holders. All of which are now redistributed to my bedroom for decoration and storage.
But as with everything, it’s what’s inside that counts so let’s take a closer look at the products. The collection overall has a lot of Spring perfect shades – lilac, corals and peachy pinks. Including an eyeshadow palette that has four shades – a peachy coral, sandy gold, a lilac and a cool brown. There’s a beautiful highlighter that’s a marbled mix of champagne and lilac in an embossed design that looks like the twist of silk on a red carpet dress.

For complexion there’s a loose powder that comes in a very retro looking powder-puff style package. The powder inside is a sort of complexion perfecting/radiant tone. Somewhere above a powder, closer to a blush or more subtle highlight. Then there’s the Cinematic Complexion Liquid. Now this is a bit of a wonder product – especially for minimal makeup at home type of days. A matte-creme liquid that helps blur out imperfections. Just adds a little something smoothing. A little like a touch of vaseline used to around the edges of cameras back in the day.

There’s also a mini brush set, with marble handles. Plus some gorgeous lip products that appear to be sold out online right now. There’s a chance that when the time comes and shops are an option that these may be found on counter. There’s a double ended lip balm with a plain and a rose red. Plus two lipsticks – a nude rose and a coral. The bullets of these are something special. I know this is a bit of a niche beauty obsessive point, but they’re just so slick and smooth. The shape of them is just perfect.
The collection is limited edition, so once it’s gone it has gone. The complexion and palette products are still showing as in stock on line. Because I was so keen to try this collection and had anticipated it selling out I bought a few pieces before the PR package arrived!
