Jo Malone Lavender Collection 2020 – Lavenderland

In the spirit of the current climate, a collection with calming lavender is a welcome dose of normality in a funny old world. The new limited edition Jo Malone Lavender Collection 2020 is on sale now and features one particular brand new-to-the-brand product.

The collection features a trio of 30ml fragrances, each with lavender notes combined with other scents to give them each a new twist. Then there’s the brand new Pillow Mist – a first for Jo Malone. Plus the reed diffuser, room spray and candle. So you can really surround yourself with lavender and wear it too.

I have two of the 30ml fragrances to share with you today. The Wisteria and Lavender Cologne and the Silver Birch and Lavender Cologne. Each bottle has a touch of lilac to it, on both the lid and the base – a colour that reflects through the glass so it’s subtle yet noticeable.

In all honesty, I didn’t anticipate that I would like this as much as I do. I had a feeling it would be more intensely floral than it is. It’s not at all, it’s way more soft and powdery than heady floral. Musk notes keeping it from smelling floral or intensely lavender. It’s just a smidge of sweet in there too.

I’m actually struggling to pin point what it is like or how to compare it. It’s one that has to be tried to really get what I mean. But it’s a modern take on Lavender, definitely not hint of ‘granny’ perfume here.

The Silver Birch and Lavender Cologne has a beautiful masculine note to it. Unlike the ‘typical’ lavender. So don’t dismiss this collection if you don’t like lavender as it normally is. This is not like that AT all. This one has a bit of a masculine vibe to it.

This is crisp and fresh. Bringing notes of grapefruit but with woody notes. It brings together some of my favourite notes out there – those woody type of notes, alongside some citrus fresh ones. All with that powdery lavender. It pretty much sums up the feeling of a cool fresh but sunny Spring day. Where the breeze is cool but the sun has that first bit of warmth after Winter.

The rest of the Jo Malone Lavender Land collection:

The Lavender & Lovage Candle is a rerelease from a few years ago. There’s also a Lavender & Musk Reed Diffuser. Again balancing out the typical Lavender with those softer musk notes. The third of the trio of colognes is Lavender & Coriander – this is a re-launch of the one from I wanted to say last year but it was actually 2016…. WOAH time flies. The collection was herb garden inspired and you can read more about the Jo Malone Herb Garden 2016 collection.

Then of course there’s a Pillow Spray. I can’t comment on what it smells like, but I know that anything that promises a better night of sleep is a winner in my book!

The Jo Malone Lavender Collection is available on JoMalone.com now prices from £25 for the Pillow Mist.
