Being at home all the time has meant I’ve been reaching more and more for my stash of products to try and test out. A positive side to the lock down is the discovery of some new wonder products. Starting with this one which is a new launch, the Oskia Nutri Bronze Adaptive Sheer Tinted Serum. Let me tell you what makes it special.

The Oskia Sheet Tinted Serum is a sort of makeup/skincare hybrid product. It’s packed with the skin loving ingredients Oskia is known for such as Bakuchiol, Vitamin E, Prebiotics & Peptides.
Bakuchioil (which is the same as Pak Choi… which is always what I have in my head when I write about it) is best described as ‘natures retinol’ or a plant based version of retinol. It’s been a bit of a buzzy skincare ingredient for a while. It’s not a brand new ingredient but it’s biggest ‘claim to fame’ is that it’s helping to stimulate collagen. But it should be noted that whilst it is compared to retinol, they are fundamentally different and realistically I wouldn’t anticipate the same results from a bakuchioil product as you would from a prescription grade or even a high percentage over the counter retinol. However, if you have used retinol and found even gentle levels of which are too irritating then this might be a nice alternative as it’s known for being more gentle and generally hydrating than it’s more intense alternative. It also currently doesn’t come with the same warnings as retinol for pregnancy (although I am not a doctor nor dermatologist so please do consult yours for the latest up to date guidelines).
Along with these skincare elements that are designed to really help your skin there’s also the addition of the bronzing tint. Which is where this product comes into it’s own. I should initially state that whilst I love a bit of a tan, this is NOT my natural state. I am pale and do not tan easily. So by and large I stay well clear of the sun and keep applying my SPF50 (extra note here – this serum does NOT contain SPF so please do apply this also to protect your skin). The wonder of this isn’t just that it ads a bit of a sun kissed tan, but that it just ads a wash of sheering perfection. Not like a full on face of make-up but just a little extra something that evens things out and makes skin look healthy and glowing. Who doesn’t want that?!
Of course as with any tan product you have to remember the fact that the shade match may or may not work for you. It is an adaptive tint, so blends well – you could perhaps just apply a little more if you’re naturally darker skin toned. It has a hint of radiance too so across any skintone choosing to use it will add a glow. I apply this with the sort of brush I would use for a foundation some sort of buffing or stippling brush is ideal.
My only complaint with it, is a minor one. The packaging – it comes with a dropper applicator and on mine this just doesn’t pick up product. I have tried squeezing in all different types of ways and can only assume there may be a fault? Instead I end up using the product on the outside of the dipper and applying to areas on the face that way. Not idea, but not a game changer.
The biggest thing I would say is that of all the products I’ve tried lately and shared on social media this is the one that had the most response – it was a real ‘wow’ moment when I shared it as part of a 5 product work from home IGTV video. The before and after is pretty impressive. It’s definitely ideal for a quick and easy natural alternative to a full face of makeup whilst at home.
