I have been using a couple of products from the Tigi Catwalk Volume collection for around month now, so thought it was about time to share my thoughts.
Firstly, the packaging for this range is gorgeous. It looks nice and expensive – the pump for the volumising gel is really practical but I do have a bit of a moan about the lid of the shampoo. It is a screw top, not the most practical in a shower – maybe I’m just clumsy, but I do find that I constantly drop the lid out of the slippery hands – perhaps a different lid would be a nice idea?
Secondly, the smell of these products is really lovely. I have found with a few hair products I have been trying recently they seem to all be going more towards the musky/powdery type of smell family rather than the traditional fruity shampoo/hair product scent. I love this as it reminds me of one of my favorite perfumes – Narciso Rodriguez ‘Essence’ – it really adds to the whole ‘expensive’ feel of this product.
They both do feel very luxurious to use, the shampoo is creamy and lathers nicely and the volumising gel doesn’t feel remotely plasticy or full of silicone like other volumising gels can feel.
But I do have to say that I don’t feel all that convinced that they add any significant amount of volume. I feel like the volumising gel does a good job at protecting hair from heat styling though and have been using it daily for this more than for volumising. I wonder if the shampoo might have better results when paired with the matching conditioner, although I have been using another brands volumising equivalent.
Side note – Do you mix and match shampoo/conditioner or do you like to stick to the same brands??
So anyway, my overall opinion of the bits I have tried from the Tigi Catwalk Volumising range are that they are lovely, luxurious feeling products to use, that both smell gorgeous -but not ones to reach for if you are looking for uber-volume, at least not alone – you will need some hairspray.
