Here’s a quick face of the day that I did before I went away – I wore this for a important meeting – so needed something to make me look polished and for it to hold up for a few hours without the need to de-shine or touch up. Excuse the serious face – it was a very serious meeting so I’m playing the part…
Bourjois Bio Detox Foundation (shade No54 Beige)
Bourjois Bio Detox Concealer (shade 2 medium)
MAC Blusher (well dressed)
Urban Decay Primer Potion (in Sin)
Bourjois Smokey Eyes Trio (09 lady vert de gris)
Bourjous Volumizer Mascara
Simple Lip Balm
I think that’s it….
I really like the new Bourjois Bio Detox Foundation – the finish is more on the matte side, but not so matte that it looks flat and unhealthy. This is my personal preference in finish – I love the idea of glowy shiny skin, but when I try to wear it I tend to feel too greasy and shiny and struggle to resist the urge to apply powder.
The concealer is ok, it’s quite thick so good coverage – but I find that it’s a bit too drying for me, especially under the eyes. It does feel nice to apply though – it has a refreshing metal roller ball applicator. I won’t keep using this for the under eyes, but would use it for covering spots and imperfections.
The mascara is another exciting launch from Bourjois – the PR girls were absolutely raving about this one – so I was very much looking forward to trying it. It’s a two-step mascara, but not like the versions with the white one and the black one. It has one wand, but with two ways of using it – step one is thinner with less product (basically you pull it through a dispenser type thing to remove excess) or you can use the second step which skips the dispenser thing and leaves the extra product on the wand so it’s a bit thicker and more dramatic. I like the results of this mascara – step two is perfect for the top lashes and step one is great for the bottom. My only complaint is that the length of the wand for the step one is quite long so can be difficult to control as it’s very thin and quite wobbly.
