MORE nails!

I know, I know… this is turning into a nail blog! I don’t mean it to, that would be ridiculous since as I type this I can see my very much un-manicured fingers. But I had an ever growing pile of nail varnishes to test so I wanted to do some round-ups of similar colours as I find them quite useful as it’s easiest to see the differences between shades when they are along side others. So I hope this is useful.

L-R Nail Girls, George, Stargazer, Eyeko, Glitter Gal.

So this is a round up of some pink nail varnishes. I used to be a pink-only kinda nail person, but since I got more and more into blogging it felt as if pink was a bit dull when there is such a world of colours out there to try. But pink is classic, easy to wear and looks polished – plus there is a shade to suit everyone.

These are mostly pale pinks – one of which I had been putting off using as it looked a bit glitter-heavy and not really my thing, but on the nail I was pleasantly surprised – it’s more shimmer than chunky glitter and it wasn’t hard to remove. Plus because the colour was sheer it meant it took the edge of the Barbie-esque pink glitter look.

L-R Glitter Gal Ballerina, Eyeko Tea Rose, Stargazer 211,
George Pink Glitz, Nail Girls Pink No 3
(all two coats, no base or top coat)

The colour run-down:

Nail Girls ‘Pink no3’ – this is one from the Nail Girls salon that I went to visit earlier in the year. It’s just off Upper Street in Islington and not far from where I live. A friendly salon with a huge range of colours.

George nail colour ‘pink glitz’  – this is the one I thought was a little Barbie-like but on the nail it was a pretty shimmer with a hint of pink. I think it would work well layered over another colour?

Stargazer ‘211’ – A pretty baby pink, despite the strong chemical smell I really like the Stargazer polishes. They have a gorgeous range of colours (I’ve spotted a dark shimmering navy type of shade that I want!)

Eyeko ‘Tea Rose Polish’ – A creamy mid-pink, this is a lovely ‘grown up’ pink. Very well pigmented and easy to apply.

Glitter Gal in ‘Ballerina’ – This colour is stunning. At first glance it’s ‘just’ a pink, but on closer inspection you can see the gorgeous rainbow coloured shimmer running through it. I’ve tried to capture it on camera. It’s a little bit like the Chanel Paradoxal in that in the bottle it’s stunning but is somewhat lost on the nail – bit it is still pretty and shimmery.

You can see the rainbow shimmer here.

So what do you think of pink nails? Which is the fave of these five?

Love the Eyeko ‘Tea Rose Polish’ – think I may need to get this.

Never sure about pinks on me though!

It’s a really pretty pink, that is slghtly less girly than the others – so probably a great choice if pinks aren’t normally your thing! 🙂

I don’t have a favourite matte – but I would probably choose to put a matte top coat over my favourite pink… which I need to think about to figure out what’s my favourite.x
