A couple of weeks I was very fortunate to be invited along to a gorgeously Parisian feeling launch event for the new ‘La Petite Robe Noire’, the latest fragrance from Guerlain.
La Petite Robe Noire is a bit of a departure from the usual style of the French perfume house, who are more known for their classic catalogue of perfumes that I always think of as grown up. This new fragrance is younger and busting with personality (especially when you see the advert).
The brand doesn’t have a ‘face’ but an illustration – created by the illustrator behind the Pink Panther. And she might not be real, but I’m still jealous of her wardrobe and legs…. (as you will see in the pictures below!)
One of the core notes for the fragrance is Black Cherry – a scent I love and you can definitely pick up when you smell it. But it’s one of those really interesting fragrances that really changes as you wear it – going from the black cherry to a more floral scent but also with something a bit darker/more evening in there too. As with any fragrance – it’s certainly one to smell yourself, and wear on the skin as it’s good to see how it develops/works with the chemistry of your own skin.
The bottle is definitely dressing table-worthy, changing from black to powdery pink, with the heart shaped lid. It encapsulates the personality of ‘La Petite Robe Noire’ – best described as ‘mischievous and captivating’.
Now I just want to wear it and skip all over Paris in a couture LBD and super high heels, causing trouble but in a cute and adorable way….!
