Glossy Box August

Here’s a little peek at the contents of my August Glossy Box – the ‘international superstars’ edition. With the Olympics (sob, missing them already) just over, it’s a nice touch to have an international themed box.

So what’s in it…

So my August box contains:
DHC Cleansing Oil (from Japan): This stuff is amazing, it’s the first cleansing oil I ever tried and it genuinely changed my life. Well, my skincare life, forever.
Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-On Manicure (from America): I’ve tried these before, they’re good for a quick fix manicure – they last really well. I don’t love the nail design of these, but not so much that I wouldn’t wear them.
Alessandro Pro White (from Germany): I’ve not tried this yet, but it’s a blue-tinged nail polish to prevent nails from looking yellow.
Vera Velenti Palette (from Spain):  Selection of eye shadows – to be honest the colours are a bit random (green and neutrals?) and at first I wondered if it was a concealer palette. This is the thing in this months  box that I’m least likely to use.
Lipcote (from the UK): Not the most glam product, but there’s nothing better out there for keeping bright lip colours in place all day.
Glossybox Lipstick in ‘Glossy Pink’: The colour looks a bit more coral in the picture than it does in real life but it is a pretty suit-all shade. Nice little extra in the box!
My overall view, this is another one of those boxes that I think is a great example of what these boxes are about – you love some, some are a bit ‘meh’ and others are new brands you have never heard of. I’m most excited to try the DHC oil again – seriously, if you have this in your box, try it – you won’t look back to the time before cleansing oil!

I use organic sweet almond oil to cleanse on the days where I wear makeup and it’s brilliant. I also use organic rosehip oil at night after I cleanse. I hope I get this box because I want to try that oil out, they are brilliant! x

That looks like quite a good box. Ah Lipcote! I’d forgotten all about that stuff x

Ooh I’m excited for my box now – Lipcote is a bit of a random choice for Britain though when there are so many other gorgeous brands to choose from on our home soil. Saying that is it because the lipstick doesn’t last very well? Regardless this looks like an awesome box and I’m really hoping I get the Japanese cleansing oil with the rave mini-review you gave it!

Im so excited to get my box! I will be happy if I get these products, but I don’t think it lives up to last months! I’m glad the lipstick was included as a little added extra, as I think sending a Glossybox branded product as one of the actual 5 items would be a bit cheeky! Completely agree with what you say about this box summing up these beauty boxes! xx

I’ve got the same box minus the press on nails. Really happy with this month’s edition.

I got the same box but with Eve’s Balm instead of the nails. Initially I was disappointed, but I tried the lipstick and liked it, and I think the Eve’s Balm might be a little gem. After your review of the cleansing oil I’m excited to try it too!
