Bobbi Brown Lilac Rose Eyeshadow Palette

Time for part two of my Bobbi Brown Lilac Rose collection reviews – and time to look at the gorgeous palette that’s become a daily favourite of mine in recent weeks. Bobbi Brown does always have stunning palettes – although sometimes the shades can be slightly low on the pigment which isn’t always a bad thing, not everyone wants strong colour. Sometimes having sheer shades can be better as then you can build up to the intensity to the look you want. So how does the Lilac Rose palette fare on selection of shades, pigment, quality…

The palette contains eight shades, in a small square compact, four on the top level and four on a lower level that can be pulled out to reveal them. The palette also contains a decent sized mirror in the lid.

On the top level the colours are: Ivory (matte), Pale Rose (matte), Pink Lily (metallic), Stormy Grey (shimmer).

On the bottom level the colours are: Barely There (matte), Heather Brown (shimmer), Dusty Lilac (matte), Black Chocolate (matte).

I love the combination of matte, shimmer and metallic shades. The matte ones aren’t *too* matte – they have a nice finish. I love how there’s a blend of neutral shades and slight colours – the hint of lilac in the shades makes it a lovely combination.

Of the eight shades, my favourite for day to day use is Heather Brown – which I’ve been using alone to add a bit of easy definition. I love how it has a hint of warmth/lilac to the shade that helps it fall on the perfect balance between neutral and slightly more interesting.

On the pigment front – these impress me. They aren’t totally pigment packed but they are strong enough to be used alone for a quick slick of colour. Definitely not too sheer by any stretch of the imagination.

Quality wise, I cant fault them – all silky smooth, regardless of the finish they are. As sometimes matte shades can veere towards the chalky side, but there’s no chalkiness to be found here.

Overall, this palette is fab for neutral lovers who maybe want to dip their toe in something a little more interesting than the standard browns. This has bumped the Naked Basics palette off of the top spot in my daily make-up routine. Kinda a big deal! This is definitely the star piece in the Lilac Rose collection.
