Wedding Inspiration

If you read THIS post then you will already know that over Christmas 2012 I got engaged. Since then I could say that life has been a whirlwind of wedding planning and food tasting and dress trying and all those things associated with preparing for the big day…but that would be a lie! In reality, for me – it’s been mostly confined to the odd pinning session on Pinterest and the occasional google…

In my defence, I’m not in a rush – more than happy to be just enjoying the ‘being engaged’ part! But with lots of pinning comes lots of inspiration, so I thought I would share a little snapshot of the images that have been inspiring how I’d love for the day to look and feel…

Wedding Inspiration

I’m not usually one for quick decisions at all – but for this it seems to have been pretty straight forward so far. Very early on we found a venue we both adore, went to visit and confirmed straight away. It’s a barn style venue, with gorgeous gardens and meadows around it and very relaxed feeling – which will suit the BBQ/garden party feel we’re going for perfectly.

Colour/theme wise, in case you hadn’t already guessed the theme is a soft minty turquoise – I didn’t want to go too bright as much prefer the slightly softer shades. I’m torn between going for touches of soft pink/peach or white with it – leaning towards white at the moment.

I have also already found and purchased the bridesmaid dresses – all very much on impulse and not planned. We were just out shopping and happened to stumble across a really pretty floaty, Topshop number in a very soft, slightly greyed mint shade that was ideal. The dress was only in limited stock, suited all the bridesmaids in both shape and colour – so I went for it. It was a tiny mission to get the right sizes tracked down but all sorted now.

So that’s just a little update on the wedding side of life for me – if anyone has any tips or ideas that you want to share then please let me know! Very much clueless when it comes to planning something like this!

Also, promise this won’t become a wedding blog at all!  The main thing I’m looking forward to sharing blogging wise is the beauty build up to the big day…make-up trials, what products I’ll use, what looks, am I having a MUA/hairdresser or not… such a girl!
