If I was to ask you to name a cult beauty product I would put money on the fact that one of the first to pop into your head would be Nars Orgasm (I reckon another would be YSL Touche Eclat…but that’s another story!) – the peachy pink glowy shade of blush that apparently suits all skintones from pale to dark is pretty much legendary (and not just for the name) so there’s a few other little ‘spin offs’ – other products under the Orgasm name – and this is the liquid illuminator!
The texture of this is very light – and when blended it creates a sheer wash of glowing colour. But can be built up if you wanted something stronger. It is quite shimmer heavy – but it’s very, very fine – so doesn’t veer towards glitter at all. But when blended out the peachy pink colour is somewhat over shadowed by the glow factor.
In the shot above I have layered the Orgasm Illuminator over Bobbi Brown Peony Blush (also seen here) which I am absolutely loving. The bright pink shade really perks my face up and I like the combination of this plus a touch of the glow courtesy of the NARS Orgasm Illuminator.
How does this compare with the blush version of the cult shade? I think overall I prefer the blusher to the illuminator – purely because the colour payoff is better and it’s the colour that the shade is mostly famous for. I also have the nail varnish from the Orgasm family – a very pretty sheer coral, will try and wear it soon so can do a review of that too!
